A CONNECTED NETWORK OF SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE
So, what if we were to think of these unique vacant lots, these isolated urban outcasts, as rather a connected network of social infrastructure? A series of neighborhood hubs, with support offerings beyond just housing? With each site creating unique identities that are linked to a broader network of infrastructure that uplifts the value of neighborhood?
We envision each lot as not just an isolated place for those in need, but a hub for the entire neighborhood. By introducing programs and spaces beyond affordable housing we can further integrate and assimilate the housing into their neighborhoods. The lower level of each parcel will have flexible communal and community space that can support a wide range of programs such as local retail, healthy food, training, social activity, gallery, library, daycare, or yoga.
